President Serzh Sargsyan received the delegation headed by the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk.
Greeting the guests, President Sargsyan noted that the Armenian-Polish relations have a great potential, and Armenia wishes to fully utilize it by deepening the cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and other spheres. According to Serzh Sargsyan, “There are two very important bases for it – the good relations between our peoples and the Eastern Partnership Program co-authored by Poland.”
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said “the Armenian-Polish relations are steadily developing and Poland is interested in expanding the framework of bilateral cooperation.” At the same time he underlined that Armenia could always rely upon Poland’s support.
As an important factor of development of relations, Serzh Sargsyan mentioned the active cultural exchange and the existence of the Polish Armenian community. Touching upon the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Polish Sejm in 2005, Serzh Sargsyan said it’s another evidence of mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples.
The Armenian President and the Polish Prime Minister exchanged views on the possible directions of Armenian-Polish cooperation, and the intensification of trade-economic ties.
Prime Minister Tusk said his country appreciates President Sargsyan’s efforts targeted at the establishment of peace and stability in the region.
